Give a present that will give hope in the future

This year has brought an avalanche of uncertainty, changes and hardship. However, I would like to end this year with a note of hope and positivity for the year ahead, to spread some love during these weird old times and find ways to cheer and contribute for a much better 2021.
Following the extraordinary initiative by Jernia´s Director, Espen Karlsen, where he advices us to promote and contribute to our local businesses, restaurants and cafes which have been hit the hardest under the pandemic restrictions and seen their incomes heavily reduced, what about to buy gift cards to give away as presents to be enjoyed in the future with your dear ones? This will not only bring in hard needed cash to keep afloat business that can not trade during the best season of the year but will bring hope for a time (hopefully soon) when we can meet others again and enjoy a meal in our favourite restaurant or a coffee with friends.

Lysløypa

If you are in Oslo, I would like to recommend Lysløypa, this is a brilliant initiative but Katrin Schauer and Ola Refsnes, which has after 10 years become an institution in Oslo and has now also been extended to Bergen and Fredrikstad.
In this quirky little pocket size book, you will find an introduction to the hottest, new and upcoming spots in the city with offers to redeem when you present the book. Find offers from meals for 2 paying the cost of one or reduced entry fees to entertainment venues in town. This is a great way not just to support local business by showing up and keeping them busy, but to get to know your city better.

Thanks

2020 has certainly been a rollercoaster, but I want to treasure the good memories that it brought. Memories of adapting to a slow pace, of having the time to be creative without a purpose together with my kids by making several ingenious handicrafts and crafting rainbows for our family and friends out of recycled materials. Or eating breakfast in the forest, just because my little ones thought it was a good idea and because, well why not?
I am immensely thankful to have been fortunate to continue working with the artisans and makers that bring my creations so skilfully to life, to the stores and retailers that share our vision and make conscious choices to promote sustainable and earth friendly products, to my friends in the creative community that inspire me, with long brainstormings and ideas, while drinking endless cups of tea, to my dear family and to all of those who buy, promote, share and support in any way our work.
I truly wish for a 2021 year which is kinder, healthier, full of good opportunities for us and our planet.
Feliz Navidad y Feliz Año Nuevo!
